Actually this reminds me of how confusing this is for people who don't
understand what the parameters are for. Does anyone know how the size
parameters are actually parsed?

It would be nice to have a common format for them. I know that for
example, --size <size>G works for me because AFAIK this gets passed
directly to lvcreate (as i use LVM).

Should we maybe add this to a TODO?
