  I'm not sure this is going to be a big problem in general, since
 most users will be using Debian guests + hosts.

  For the people who are having problems they can simply omit the
 option.

  That might be a good way of doing it.  I think I'll leave things as-is
 for the moment.  (ie. copying users who aren't present) but will think
 this through a little more over the weekend.
