Yes, I read that RedHat bought
Qumranet<http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/09/04/red-hat-buys-a-seat-at-the-virtualization-table/?partner=rssnyt&emc=rss>,
the creators of KVM, a couple of months ago.
So I could imagine them dropping support for Xen. I'm a bit concerned about
switching to KVM if the project is being run by RedHat.
RedHat aquired Sistina Software in 2003. Does GFS work on Debian? It was
broken on Ubuntu when I wasted last Christmas trying to get it working on
Ubuntu. I heard one suggestion that RedHat didn't make GFS particularly easy
for other distros to package. (I haven't tried it on Debian. I know
EngineYard use it on Gentoo) *
*I wonder whether switching to KVM might eventually see me wondering whether
I should move to Centos as it's got the most stable packaging of it? *
*Also, is KVM ready for me to use for clients in the datacentre? Are any big
VPS providers using it? Should Amazon be switching to it for their EC2
offering?
