Oh, ok. I thought it was cut & paste from what you see in the
terminal. But up to this stage console and log file are nearly the
same...
Can you rerun the same command with --verbose added and send the log
file again.

Yeah, it fails when checking if /bin/ls and /bin/cp are present.
The copying is immediately before that.
With the --verbose option there should be some more details in the log
file. Maybe they help to find the source of the problem.

If you mount the newly created image manually, is /bin/ls then
present?
