Hmmm I must have slipped up somewhere I had intended that directory to
have the '.d' suffix, but as you say it doesn't.
Well I'll leave it alone for the moment, since it is a pain renaming
things and I've already done that too often.

If that happens then yes :)
It might be possible to detect this case automatically in the future,
if we could find a "xennet.ko" beneath /lib/modules/ we could add the
line fairly safely.
How does that sound?

Yes they seem to do so. I don't have a xennet.* anywhere on my
system:
skx at itchy:~$ locate xennet
skx at itchy:~$ uname -a
Linux itchy 2.6.16-2-xen-686 #1 SMP Mon May 22 21:41:58 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux
