[xen-tools-discuss] xt-customize-image --dist=hardy -> gzip defunct

hi
i'm using xen-tools 3.8-4ubuntu4 on ubuntu hardy amd64. when i create a
guest with:
~# xen-create-image --hostname=mysql51neu --size=20Gb --swap=512Mb --ide
--ip=192.168.0.90 --netmask=255.255.0.0 --gateway=192.168.0.254 --lvm=ubuntu
--memory=1024Mb --arch=amd64 --kernel=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-xen
--initrd=/boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-16-xen --debootstrap --dist=hardy --mirror=
http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ --passwd --verbose
....
Running hooks

and then it hangs. ps auxf shows:

I tried several times - all hang at the same step..
