Yeah, I know that SF also offers git hosting (only since very recently
though).
But to make it more clear: IMHO SF is a pain in the ass -- the
bugtracker as well as the mailing list archives as well as the
administration of projects.
I definitely prefer something less overloaded. That would btw. start
with many of the hosting services based on forks of SF's software
(gforge, fusionforge, etc.), e.g. nongnu.org, gna.org, evolvis.org,
alioth.debian.org, etc.
