One clear advantage of KVM is that it doesn't need a separate
hypervisor. And especially where hosting is what brings in money,
better performance might be higher weighted than I do.

Ok, I guess we just have quite different use cases here. Could also be
that I'm old style, but I usually want to be able to run "apt update"
inside my VMs which especially Docker is not made for. :-)
